What it is
A structured crochet crossbody bag in natural ivory raffia-style yarn, with a distinctive ribbed vertical stitch pattern that gives the body a raised, corrugated texture. The domed silhouette is achieved through stitch shaping alone — no internal frame or padding. The bag can be carried two ways: by the short crocheted top handles as a hand bag, or worn crossbody using the long braided strap.
How it’s made
The body is worked in rows using a raised vertical rib stitch (post stitch variation) in premium raffia-style yarn. This stitch creates the pronounced ridges visible on the bag’s surface and also provides the structural rigidity that holds the domed shape. The base is worked in the round and joined to the body. The top frame, short handles, button, and crossbody strap are all crocheted separately and hand-attached. Construction time per bag is approximately 5–8 hours.
